How we help our clients

Professional Development Training

Our firm specializes in helping business professionals acquire broader technical and interpersonal skills. Our Training Engagements are structured from one hour to multiple days.  Our clients use the flexibility of a one hour training session for lunch-and-learn or breakfast-and-learn events or as one component of organizational meetings with multiple agenda topics.  With longer duration training sessions, we work with each client to outline the specific skills that the participants can practice and get feedback on during the training session; that feature reinforces their understanding of the material and accelerates their ability to implement the recommended actions and behaviors afterwards.

Here are examples of Training topics:
— Excelling as a Leader of Yourself and Others
— Confident Decision Making - A Disciplined and Repeatable Process
— Career Management - Lean into Your Strengths
— Project Management Essentials for Non-Project Managers
— Learn How to Lead and Inspire Others to Follow
— The Coaching Dialogue - Where is the Monkey?
— A Disciplined Sales Process - Like Rinse, Wash, Dry and Repeat
— The Selling Mission - Securing Commitments to Act
— Public Speaking - Finding Your Voice to Enlighten and Influence People

Speaking engagements

We enjoy inspiring audiences during Speaking Engagements to expand their thinking and redefine what is possible for them to achieve.  These engagements are approximately 30 minutes or less. Clients secure us for keynote addresses at luncheons, dinners, conferences or similar events. We also participate in panel discussions as well as lead these interactive discussions as the panel Moderator.  In preparing for Speaking Engagements, we spend time learning about your audience, your organization including its cultural norms, and refine the key components of the message to address your needs. Our joint preparation process is critical to delivering a valuable and inspiring message to the event attendees.

Here are examples of Speaking Engagement topics:
— How Leaders Drive Exceptional Results
— Achieving Individual Excellence in Your Career and Life
— Why your Team needs Your Coaching
— Why Project Management skills are Critical for all Business Professionals
— Have You found Your Purpose?
— Career Planning - Choosing between the Two Paths
— Sales is Simple - Selling is Complex
— Objection Handling - How did I Lose You?
— Presenter vs. Facilitator - Preparing for Public Speaking Success

executive Coaching for executives and entrepreneurs

We provide customized Executive Coaching Engagements to executives and entrepreneurs.  Also, we may work with high potential individual contributors and managers who are seeking to make a valuable investment in their careers.  Our coaching incorporates the whole person by integrating professional, personal and civic responsibilities.

As a result of our work together, Executive Coaching Engagement clients receive an Individualized Coaching Action Plan (ICAP).  The plan is a roadmap that inspires confidence in the actions clients can take to bend their personal performance curve; it also imparts a platform for driving tangible positive results by working more effectively with their teams and colleagues.  Since our clients do not accomplish success alone, the plan also focuses on their target behaviors that can maximize relationships, enhance collaboration, and minimize conflicts in all parts of their lives.

Our ICAP Executive Coaching Engagements typically take about 3 months to develop together. Through a three phased process, the client completes a series of assignments in coordination with several coaching sessions done in-person or via video or voice calls.  Since change is constant, clients can request to extend our Executive Coaching relationship and retain our expertise while implementing their plans.

As an example, a persistent coaching need for business leaders that we can work on together (after completing an ICAP) is developing a clear, consistent and repeatable approach to making high quality decisions.

Consulting for Operational excellence

We work with profit and nonprofit organizations to implement best practices to achieve operational excellence and desired results.  Our target client is an organization with 1,000 employees or less or a similarly sized division, operating unit or functional area in a larger organization.  We work with clients in a variety of industries.  We help organizations from the perspective of a Chief Operating Officer or General Manager to identify the interdependent relationships of functional and operating units to outline realistic Operating Plans to effectively implement initiatives, projects or other business priorities to achieve desired results.

Each customized Consultative Engagement begins with a clear definition and documentation of the scope of the engagement’s focus, goals and timeframe.  We will also outline the leadership, staff and other resources needed to support a successful engagement.  If additional needs arise that are outside of the scope of the initial engagement, then we can discuss how to address that additional work. As an example, if during the course of the engagement specific training needs are identified, then a Training Engagement can be added to the client relationship.

As examples, we can help a leadership team evaluate the decision making authority across the organization, implement actions to increase capacity for managers to coach their teams, and avoid pitfalls that waste staff time which negatively impacts productivity across the organization.  Next, from a functional area perspective, we help our clients evaluate and refine their sales and selling practices and processes.
