Based upon a recent conversation with a prospective Inspirational Speaking Engagement client, we thought that this message would be timely to share with a broader audience through this blog post.  In particular, these are some thoughts about the ability to achieve sustainable excellence and success through the power of a very simple concept.

As you take a thoughtful assessment of your life, career, organization and industry, one truth jumps to the forefront - The Pace of Change is Accelerating.  To win and succeed on the road ahead will require the unleashing of your talents and a focus on learning that is unprecedented.  Extracting maximum insights from the experiences that you pursue is a winning approach.  This direction will require you to be more nimble and adaptable than ever before.  Absolutely, your norms and comfort zones will be impacted; however, those are exactly the signs needed to confirm that you are pushing yourself forward.  You want to move faster to develop, grow, seize and utilize your true strengths.

How?  In my experience, five simple words, “Fail Small, but Learn Big” have the power to help individuals drive a habit and discipline of accelerated learning and excellence.  As a proactive person, you develop ideas and refined approaches to accomplish tasks, projects, events and other activities.  Embracing the integrity rooted within your character, you are comfortable with the accountability and transparency associated with the success of the actions that you pursue.  In your mind, “failures” are not negative badges, but rather “speed bumps on the journey to achieve excellence.”  Your maximum propensity to learn comes when you have the willingness to fail; that is the foundation of confidence and the building blocks of a successful track record.  The opportunities of the future will be captured by proactive people like yourself who deliberately implement actions to learn faster.

For those of us who are business leaders, managers, mentors, parents or in other roles that provide influence in the development of others, we have another critical responsibility.  We have to create the supportive, caring and compassionate environments for others to implement these powerful five words in their lives.  Let each one of them know that “if you choose to step out on that tightrope, then I will be your safety net.”  Our support and encouragement are invaluable to get them moving and believing further in what is possible for them to achieve and contribute.  Also, we can be another valuable input to what they learn from personal, work and volunteer experiences.

To punctuate the theme of this article, we offer the words of Robert de Ropp - “Seek, above all, for a game worth playing.  Having found the game, play it with intensity.  Play as if your life and sanity depended on it.  Because they do!”

You have the ability to seize the opportunities occurring now and in the future.  Remember and share the message associated with these five powerful words, “Fail Small, but Learn Big” - they represent a mantra for your life as you navigate the road ahead.  We welcome you to learn about our Executive Coaching, Inspirational Speaking and other professional services by visiting enlightenedrtc.com.  If we can help you or your organization, then contact us and let’s talk.
